A Jamaican national with Canadian citizenship is appearing in the First District Court in Gros Islet today, Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013 in connection with the discovery of cocaine in a guest house earlier this week.

A police press release states that 34-year-old Dwally Everlee Moranc, who is vacationing in Saint Lucia, was arrested and charged with the possession of a controlled drug and possession with the intent to supply a controlled drug.

Police reports that at about 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 16, 2013, officers attached to the Gros Islet Police Station responded to reports of a burglary at Corinth Estate, Gros Islet.  Whilst there, the release said investigations led the officers to a guest house in the area.

During an interview with a male guest occupying a room at the establishment, the officers noticed suspicious looking packages on the floor.

The officers recovered 70 small packages of what appeared to be cocaine from the room.

The guest was later identified as Moranc who was then arrested and taken into custody.

  2. It seems not nice and Jo blo took great offence to what is generally public knowledge but FYI my ex is an officer so this was not done random thought and by the tone of your responses I'm guessing u guys r officers hiding behind this platform and waiting for ppl like me to speak my mind for y'all to make face on here. And u should also note that the 2 suspects helping with investigations in Chereece's murder have since been released due to lack of evidence thanks to the robo cops we have here who cannot adequately conduct crime scene investigations. I am not condoning any crime but I'm just saying that the police try to front like they is de biggest ting and they closets more dirty. Sak way salop ko zot ye. Find real work to do

    • Foolish statement.. how can you compare this incident to the murder. Police have a job to do and by arresting these guys, it tells me they are doing it..
