Jamaica: Police kill 3 alleged gunmen in St Mary

(JAMAICA OBSERVER) – The police have reported that three men were fatally shot during a gun battle with lawmen in Anotto Bay, St Mary yesterday.

Reports are that a Smith and Wesson pistol along with two rounds of ammunition, and a .44 Magnum pistol with two rounds of ammunition were seized from the men who reportedly challenged the police with gunfire.

The men have been identified as Andrew Davis, otherwise called ‘Bailo’, Rohan Keys, otherwise called ‘Bankie’ and Kamar Robinson.

Police say the incident occurred about 2:45 pm when a team of officers which was on duty in the area signalled a motorcar to stop. The driver of the vehicle complied and the occupants reportedly alighted from the motor vehicle and opened gunfire at the police.

The police responded with gunfire and the three injured men were taken to hospital where they died while being treated, the cops said.

The Inspectorate of the Constabulary (IOC) and the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) are investigating.
