Prime Minister Dr. Kenny Anthony has put the opposition on notice.
He said parliamentarians and former parliamentarians not mentioned in the Review of Financial Operations of Town, Village and Rural Councils will be made to account. The promised forensic audit, he added, is underway and will be made public.
Prime Minister Anthony made it clear that the constituencies and the parliamentarians not contained in the report must account and do so truthfully. Reiterating his government’s intent to pursue the matter, Dr. Anthony noted that the law provides for criminal prosecution under the jurisdiction of the Director of Public Prosecution and/or civil proceedings through the Attorney General’s Chambers.
The prime minister has called on Lenard Montoute, Guy Joseph, Keith Mondesir and Richard Frederick to examine the available options.
Dr. Anthony said the forensic audit he promised last year is on its way and has insisted that the constituencies served by the United Workers Party MPs need to know the truth about monies allocated to them.
The nation, he concluded, must be accounted to by those most trusted to secure its interest.
