pastor14n-3-webNEW YORK DAILY NEWS – A Pennsylvania pastor faces charges he impregnated a 15-year-old girl from his youth group during a seven-month sexual relationship, according to reports.

The wife of Wesley Blackburn, youth pastor at Faith Brethren Bible Church, told the New Paris church’s head pastor he had confessed to the relationship and asked for a divorce, senior pastor Jim Espenshade told WJAC-TV on Wednesday.

Espenshade and other church leaders immediately fired Blackburn, a 35-year-old father of five, and alerted police last week. He was charged Oct. 6 on hundreds of counts of statutory sexual assault and indecent assault.

“I don’t know this man,” Espenshade, 35, told the TV station. “The man that got arrested, I don’t know him. I was shocked, absolutely shocked. You work with him and you’re there and you’re thinking, ‘How could this happen? How could he do this?’”

Blackburn told a state trooper who found him packing his belongings at the church that he started having sex with the girl in March, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by The Tribune-Democrat of Johnstown. He admitted he fathered the girl’s child, the affidavit showed.

  1. The police are not going to kill him because of the colour of his skin. If he was black, I am sure I would have seen this story on the BBC and in the UK media. They love portraying black people in the negative light. Yet, our very black people are negative towards each other. Some come from abroad, earning from St.Lucia and still saying Lucians are negative.

  2. Well I'm always gonna hold my spiritual beliefs. Sadly we put our faith in pastors too much. Let's put where is should be in God.

    • you are so right. I have a friend who does to a church that as I told her seems more of a cult to me. Pastor say they can't wear pants, no tight dresses, no make up, don't cut your hair, don't do your eyebrows, can't even go to the movies!! I To go to a get together you have to consult with pastor?? WHAT THE WHAT??!!

! I warned her she got baptized to have a relationship with God not with pastor. smh. some of these pastors aint nothing easy eh.

    • Amen! All men, like ourselves, are fallible. God is not. He is the only constant. He does not disappoint nor does he fail. He is not a man that he should lie. Put your faith in God. not the Pastor or the religion. and a Pastor's failures do not equate God's failures.

  3. Church is nothing but brain wash, but I believe in GOD!

  4. You'll are so brain washed by those fake people. They use GOD's name to cover their crimes in the church and everybody falls for it. You don't have to follow those liars, crooks. criminals and scam bags to find GOD. All they're looking for is your money, power, fame and abusing young children. AMEN!

You can find your own God at no charge.

  5. These days not even the people in the church u can trust..My gosh. When pastor ask ya'll to send the young kids for prayer, go with them. Tell pastor you need prayer too cause lord knows.
