PRESS RELEASE – International Men’s Day 2015 will be celebrated with the staging of a Health and Lifestyle Fair in Rodney Bay (between JQ Rodney Bay Mall and Baywalk Mall) between 9am to 3pm.
This event is a being staged by volunteers of the health and fitness fraternities and admission is free. It is an extension of Radio Caribbean International’s (RCI) Real Talk morning program and will be hosted by Qwency Griffith (Pringles/Superman) and supported with a LIVE outside broadcast on RCI compliments of Populus Global Solutions Inc., 1st National Bank and PineHill. There will be a Daily quiz at 9:00 am on RCI 101.1 /99.1 FM Mon 16th Nov – Fri 20th Nov (1st Prize – 6 weeks personal training at REPTS sponsored by Sagicor)
Disease Specific Organizations (St. Lucia Arthritis and Lupus Association, St. Lucia Sickle Cell Association, HIV Program and St. Lucia Diabetes and Hypertension Association) will be present distributing information to the public and selling relevant medical devices.
The onsite services available for men and boys are:-
Free Ophthalmic (Eye) Screening 10 am to 2pm Eye Care St. Lucia,
Pharmacy Advice (9am to 12pm Tapion Hospital),
Dietician (Victoria Hospital) 1pm to 3pm
Physiotherapy (St. Jude Hospital) 11am to 2pm,
Doctors Corner: – St Lucia Medical and Dental Association 11am to 2pm,
Nursing Support (Tapion Hospital) BP, weight, BMI, waist measurement
Free Dental Screening 1pm to 3pm (sponsored by Sagicor).
Free Hearing Test 10 am to 12pm (Dr. Surage)
Laboratory Services and Consultations Limited is offering a special onsite blood testing package for men *(PSA, CBC, HbA1c, RBS/FBS and HIV testing =$100, a 40% saving) *. This package is only available on November 21st 2015 at the event in Rodney Bay.
The event is supported by a host of private sector entities. LIME is the official Telecommunications Sponsors (on site Top Up, specials and prize available) and Blue Waters the official water sponsor (onsite blue waters specials). A Sagicor Booth highlighting insurance issues for men and a 1st National Bank booth highlighting banking services and men will be open to the public.
There will be an exhibition fitness workout (King of the Road Work Out 10am to 11am) hosted by (REPTS) .
The Mobile Blood bank will be conducting a blood donation drive and the Ministry of Health (Bureau of Health Promotions and Gender Relations) will be providing health education and highlighting male specific gender issues.
Registration for the 7K Red Cross Fun Walk/Run will be available on site.
