CNN – Legendary “60 Minutes” reporter Morley Safer died, just a week after retiring from the TV news magazine, network officials announced on Thursday.
He was 84.
Safer spent 52 years at CBS and 46 seasons with “60 Minutes.”
Upon his retirement, Safer thanked viewers for regularly tuning into “60 Minutes.”
“It’s been a wonderful run, but the time has come to say goodbye to all my friends at CBS and the dozens of people who kept me on the air,” he said just a week ago.
