unnamed (12)PRESS RELEASE – The KFC Commercial Basketball League quarter final stages are almost here, and some teams have already secured their spots.

In game one Friday’s Group B double header, Massy Stores delivered a 62-28 thrashing to Windjammer.

However, neither of these teams will be advancing to the quarterfinal stage.

In the second matchup, ECFH/BOSL and IRD Husslers battled it out to sit atop the group B standings.

IRD, with an injured Keegan Preville lost to BOSL 65-51.

For BOSL, KFC Player of the Game, lightning fast guard Jean-Michel Eloise had 14 points, 7, rebounds, 7 steals, 4 assists. Shamoir Jn. Baptiste led the bankers in scoring with 26 points, 11 rebounds.

Despite nagging injury, Keegan Preville was able to rake in 19 points, 9 rebounds and Ron Dumerville 18 points, 13 rebounds.

Both teams will advance to the quarterfinals.

Saturday September 25th saw two exciting matchups.

In game one, the Saint Lucia Fire Service AND Digicel 4G Ballers competed for Group C’s top spot.

The Firemen continued their dominant performance with a 70-59 victory.

The SLFS well balanced attack was let by KFC Player of the game veteran Desmond Vidal with 22 points, 17 rebounds.

The other half of the Twin Tower combo Marcian Calderon contributed 21 points, 11 rebounds.

In a losing effort, Fabian Florton led Digicel with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 6 steals.

Digicel and the Firemen will also be advancing to the quarterfinal stage.

The Media Association was also able to secure themselves a quarterfinal spot by defeating the Insurance All Stars 71-59.

Arthur Lisson led the charge for the short-handed Media team with 25 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals.

Player of the game Paul Hippolyte had an amazing showing, contributing 22 points, 20 rebounds, 4 assists.

The Insurance All Stars, also undermanned with only one bench player got 25 points, 6 rebounds, 6 steals out of Simeon Hippolyte.

Group stage matchups continue on Wednesday September 28th when the SLTU and RSLPF Combined Forces square off, and will conclude on Friday with a group b matchup between Sandals and Le Sport.

The first quarterfinal game will be played on Friday.
