Inter-Secondary Soca Competition set for Tuesday

PRESS RELEASE – The first ever inter secondary school Power and Groovy Soca competition will be held on Tuesday July 7 at the National Cultural Center from 10 am.

Eight schools will be participating in the Digicel Groovy segment of the competition. They are Sir Ira Secondary School, Castries Comprehensive Secondary School, Corinth Secondary School, Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary School, Entrepot Secondary School, Marigot Secondary, Gros Islet Secondary and Choiseul Secondary.

In the Piton Malta Power Soca competition five schools will vie for the crown. They are Vieux Fort Secondary, Castries Comprehensive Secondary, Sir Ira Simmons, Choiseul Secondary and Corinth.

The winner in each category will win a trophy EC$1,000 and a smart phone compliments Digicel among other prizes.

The event will be hosted my Mareen of RCI and MC Scady and will feature a number of guest artiste including Shemmy J, Sweet K, CJ and the Great White.

The Ministry of Education and the Carnival Planning and Management Authority have endorsed the event.
