Inter Ministry Football Tournament continues today with Bordelais vs Treasury match

football1PRESS RELEASE – Football action continues in the Inter Ministry Football Tournament organized by the Ministry of the Public Service, Information and Broadcasting.

The Matches commenced on November 02, at the Kenneth Wriggler Court in Castries, with three matches being played  on each night Monday to Wednesday from   6:00pm. The tournament consists of twelve teams.  Matches in the quarter finals will take place on November 24 and November 25, while semi-final matches are scheduled for November 30.

The finals will be played on December 02, where the winners in the tournament will be presented with cash prizes and trophies.

In the final matches for this week, Wednesday November 11, from 6:00pm Bordelais will play against Treasury, Public Service will play against Education, while Physical Development will play against Inland Revenue.

Summary of matches played thus far:

Week one matches kicked off on November 02, with Police defeating Health 1-0, N.I.C.E defeating Fire service by default,  while  Infrastructure  defeated  Customs by an emphatic 4-0.

The action continued on November 03, with Treasury defeating Education 3-0, Physical Development winning Bordelais by default, while Public Service claiming a comfortable 3-0 victory over neighbours Inland Revenue.  On November 04, Saint Lucia Police Force got the better of N.I.C.E 1-0, followed by Health defeating Customs 2-0 while Infrastructure made light work of Fire Service 2-0.

On November 09, Treasury got the ball rolling defeating Physical Development by 2-1.  Education and Public Service won by default, playing Inland Revenue and Bordelais respectively. The first match on Tuesday November 10, between Infrastructure and N.I.C.E resulted in an exciting 0-0 draw with both sides squandering clear goal scoring opportunities.

The second match on that night saw Customs gaining a hard fought victory over police by 2 goals to 1, while the final match for that night saw Health defeating Fire Service 2-0, in a highly competitive encounter.
