Hotels footballers face up in the SLHTA Commercial Football Competition this weekend

unnamed (6)PRESS RELEASE – This weekend, the Soufriere Mini Stadium will be blazing with excitement as the Saint Lucia Hotel and Tourism Association pulls down the curtains on its annual SLHTA Commercial Football Competition.

The evening of Saturday 22nd October 2016 will kick off with a match against Soufriere’s Challenger’s and River Roots at 5:00pm. Then at 7:00pm the much anticipated match between Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa and Sugar Beach A Viceroy Resort.

The two teams will have their last opportunity to use their skills and put on a battle to capture the title and make history for their property.

The Competition which commenced on August 1st 2016 at the La Clery Playing Field saw participation from 13 teams including:

  1. St Lucia Distillers Ltd
  2. Sandals Grande St Lucian Spa & Beach Resort
  3. Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort & Spa
  4. Bay Gardens Resorts
  5. The Landings St Lucia
  6. Sugarbeach A Viceroy Resort
  7. Anse Chastanet/Jade Mountain
  8. Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort
  9. Capella Marigot Bay & Marina
  10. Royal St Lucia Resort & Spa
  12. The Body Holiday, LE SPORT
  13. St James Club Morgan Bay St Lucia

Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa who were the 2013 Champions will be looking to reclaim the title of SLHTA Football Champions 2016 as they do battle against Sugar Beach A Viceroy Resort.

The initial aim of the SLHTA Commercial Football Competition is to encourage camaraderie and promote health and wellness among hotels and members of the Association. The SLHTA Sports calendar also includes a netball competition targeted at both female and male employees with the SLHTA Membership.

Admission to the event is only $5.00 for adults and children under the age of 12 years enter free. There will be lots of door prizes available for patrons.

The SLHTA would like to congratulate both teams for making it to the finals and wishes the teams all the best for the final game for the season.
