Homicide at Marina Street in Gros Islet

(PRESS RELEASE) — Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an incident which resulted in the death of Marjele Williams, a 26-year-old resident of Massade, Gros Islet.

About 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2019, officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department of the Gros Islet Police Station received a report of a stabbing at Marina Street in Gros Islet.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers were able to identify the victim as Marjele Williams who was thereafter conveyed to the Victoria Hospital via ambulance. He was later pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.

A post mortem examination was conducted on the body of Marjele Williams on Thursday, July 12, 2019, which revealed the cause of death as right hemothros secondary to incise stab wound to the heart.

One individual is presently in custody assisting with investigations.

Investigations are continuing into this matter.
