Guyana: Surinamese hairdresser busted with cocaine, ecstasy at Berbice backtrack route- Police

(INEWS GUYANA) – A female Surinamese has been arrested on Saturday morning at NO 78 Foreshore, Corentyne, Berbice, after a search of her person and that of her belongings revealed 247 grams of suspected cocaine and 100 grams of ecstasy (192 pills).

Her arrest was confirmed by Police PRO, Superintendent Jairam Ramlakhan, who detailed that the 27-year-old woman is said to be a hairdresser of Charlesburg, Paramaribo, Suriname.

She reportedly arrived about 08:30h via the backtrack route when a routine search was conducted by officers manning the port and the illicit substances unearthed.

The hairdresser is being processed for court.
