Guyana: Man remanded for beating wife with iron

(INEWS GUYANA) – Gladstone Simmons, 34, who was charged for brutalizing his reputed wife with a piece of iron appeared before Magistrate Sunil Scarce on Monday.

Simmons pleaded not guilty to the offence of wounding and causing actual bodily harm.

January 21 last, the man allegedly began beating Christina Totaram while accusing her of conversing with another man via telephone after which he later found out that it was one of his colleagues who was trying to make contact with him.

He was remanded until February 26, 2018.
