Dead: Sasia Adams

(NEWS ROOM GUYANA) – A Post Mortem Examination (PME) conducted on the remains of 19-year-old Sasia Adams today revealed that she died from blunt trauma to the head, the Guyana Police Force said.

The PME was conducted by Government Pathologist, Dr. Nehaul Singh.

The Pomeroon, Essequibo woman died on Tuesday at the Balwant Singh’s Hospital two days after she allegedly jumped out of her boyfriend’s moving car on Lamaha Street, Georgetown.

Commander of ‘A’ Division, Leslie James told News Room this morning that the 21-year-old boyfriend of Diamond Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara is still in police custody.

News Room understands that police are to review CCTV cameras from the area in an effort to determine whether indeed the young lady jumped out of the car.

There have been conflicting reports as to what exactly occurred on Sunday night.

Adams, who lived at East Street, Georgetown, was rushed her to the hospital on Sunday night by her boyfriend.

A family member told News Room that the young man related two different stories about how Adams received her injuries.

One of the accounts is that the young lady fell down at her home; the other is that she fell out of a moving car. There are allegations that the young man might have hit Adams in the head, causing her to fall out of the vehicle.

News Room also understands that Adams was conscious when she was admitted to the hospital and told a doctor that she fell down.

However, she subsequently lost consciousness and was on life support when she died at around 11:25 hrs.

Adams is a former student of the Anna Regina Multilateral School and she was employed at the Princess Ramada Hotel, Providence, East Bank of Demerara.
