Guardsman poll rescheduled

Guardsman poll rescheduled

Over 200 security guards employed with security service, Guardsman, will have to wait for another date to participate in a secret ballot exercise.

At the conclusion of a meeting at which management officials, the National Workers Union (NWU) and representatives from the Ministry of Labour were present, the parties had agreed to April 17, 2013 as the possible date, but failed to reach consensus on the method for carrying out the exercise.

The NWU called for a roving poll which was quite successful when utilized with G4S, as there was no disruption of the company’s operations.

Another date is being fixed so that this matter could be brought to closure.
