(PRESS RELEASE VIA SNO) – On Sunday, 12 August 2018, the Gros Islet SLP Management Committee will be hosting the Annual General Meeting of the Constituency at the Gros Islet Secondary School from 3.00 pm. The theme for this year’s Meeting is: “FOR THE MANY AND NOT THE FEW”

The Annual General Meeting is opened to the public. It will be used as one of the platforms for articulating and marketing the roadmap for the way forward for Gros Islet and the St Lucia Labour Party. It will also be used as a celebration of past successes, a reminder that the St Lucia Labour Party has a rich and proud heritage and that there is every probability that the Party can re-enact those successes in the future.

Among some of the matters down for discussion are:

Plans for the Massive Protest March and Mass Rally which will be staged by the St Lucia Labour Party on 9 September 2018 in Castries;

The Party’s views on Prime Minister Allen Chastanet’s decisions to go ahead with the Dolphin Park on the Pigeon Island Causeway. The Party is concerned that this decision will most certainly have a detrimental impact on the health of sea bathers and the livelihood of fisher folks from not only Gros Islet but those from Anse-La-Raye and Canaries since the waste from Dolphins will further pollute the water, kill other fish in the water and damage the coral reefs.

Reports from Executive members will be presented and the Party’s Leader, Hon Philip J Pierre will be addressing the Meeting.

The Management Committee is inviting the public to come out to share in the celebration, to articulate their views and to be informed.
