PRESS RELEASE – Parliamentary Representative for Gros Islet Emma Hippolyte has expressed concern over the discovery of three bodies in the space of three weeks in the northern constituency.
These discoveries, she says, has sent the community and by extension, the country into shock and mourning.
In a statement issued on Monday, April 28, 2014, the parliamentary representative says she is saddened by the recent developments and is hoping for a speedy resolution to these crimes.
Hippolyte said: “I wish to express my deepest condolences to the families who have had to deal with the unimaginable pain of losing a loved one under such tragic circumstances. I urge all to continue to pray for these families, so that they may find comfort in this difficult time.
The minister for national security has given me the assurance that the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force is doing all in its power to solve these unexplained deaths. As parliamentary representative, I will continue to work with the Gros Islet Police to ensure that our community is safe. I urge anyone who has information on these three cases to report it to the police, as capturing the criminals will not only bring closure for the families, but it will also lead to a safer constituency.
Again, I extend my sympathies to the families and friends in this difficult time.”
