Government employment initiative for registered nurses

PRESS RELEASE – The government of Saint Lucia, through the Ministry of Health, Wellness, Human Services and Gender Relations, and the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, has embarked on an initiative to employ registered nurses from St. Lucia to work in Trinidad and Tobago.

This initiative seeks to review, through an interview process, nurse applicants to work in Trinidad and Tobago under contract for a minimum period of two years.  Registered nurses are invited to an interview with an Interview Panel from Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday, August 21 and Friday August 22, 2014 at the National Mental Wellness Centre.

Nurses, who wish to apply, are asked to take their Curriculum Vitae (CV), transcripts with number of practicum hours included, a copy of their registration and other certificates, to the 2nd floor of the Ministry of Health, on the Waterfront, Castries.  Deadline for receipt of these documents is Friday, August 15, 2014 at 3 p.m.

For further information, please contact Ms Beverly Felix, Acting Senior Executive Officer, at telephone no. (758) 468-5333.

  1. Take the opportunity only if you are unemployed.

Otherwise why would anyone want to live their sweet Saint Lucia to go to TNT where the crime rate is so rampant.

    • Well for one reason, they pay very well i know.I don't know if the same treatment will be given to the nurses under this program though. If so then its worth it.

  3. ok so yall tryna tell me we have sooooooooooo many nurses that we can afford to contract them out...? SERIOUSLY! shouldn't we be ensuring that our shizz on the island is taken care of first??

Granted it's a free society and one can work anywhere...but jeez man!

    friggin ridiculous!

Why isn't it that the trinis come here and we go over there??? That way we can both learn from each other - fair exchange!!!!!!!!

  4. Saint Lucia is now reduced to being a feeder country for trained HR? When are they returning home?

    • No. SLP is simply finding a very nice way to export its unemployment problem. That way it will reduce the unemployment percentage figure to single digits in time for the next elections.
