Girls of a Feather is an organization founded by young women of St. Lucia to provide educational opportunities and mentorship to young St. Lucian women between the ages of 10 and 18.
The primary goals of the organization are to raise awareness about the prevalent issues affecting them such as social and peer pressures, sexual activity, STDs, teenage pregnancy, physical and sexual abuse and their motto is to empower girls through self-actualization.
Members of the organization aim to promote personal accountability in the form of high self-esteem, goal setting and healthy lifestyles among others. We hope to raise funds for underprivileged girls while highlighting the accomplishments of women and young girls in St. Lucia. Girls of a feather also hopes to provide mentorship through assistance at school and helping girls find jobs and internship programmes.
The organisation would like to thank their corporate sponsors- Digicel, Mega J, Super J, M&C Drugstore, Nato’s Educational and Sports Supplies Ltd and Splash Island Water Park for making the camp possible and those who showed their support and assisted in different ways.
The organization also wishes to encourage more young girls and women to get involved with us and to help make a positive change in the lives of our girls in St. Lucia. We can be contacted via the following ways:
