Former Registrar of the High Court in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Vanessa Tamara Gibson-Marks, has pleaded guilty to stealing EC$21,925 and the abuse of authority in office and will be sentenced this Friday.

Gibson-Marks, originally from St. Lucia, had pleaded not guilty to all charges and was granted bail with one surety last month – about three months after Attorney General Judith Jones-Morgan asked her to resign.

IWitness News reports that Director of Public Prosecution Colin Williams discontinued the other charge — that “on May 7th, 2014 in Kingstown St. Vincent and the Grenadines being a person employed in the public service who being authorized to give a certificate touching any matter by virtue whereof the rights of any person may be prejudicially affected did give a certificate which was to your knowledge false in a material particular to wit an order claim 96/1980”.

  1. Tamara is a BOBOLIST accept that. Tamara was not sorry. She pleaded guilty because the evidence was overwhelming. Prior to that she pleaded not guilty hoping to get away with it. What you need to realise is this woman was travelling every other weekend and stealing money from peoples wills. How is that right? How can someone who has more steal from those who had less than her? I will never feel sorry for her. NEVER.

  2. At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. 3 The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4 and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” 6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.

But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.

9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”

11 “No one, sir,” she said.

“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

The Word of God Speaks for itself. Lord extend your mercy to the fallen for we have all fall short and not one of us is without sin whether are sins are known or unknown. You are no respecter of person and you are not like man who only see outwardly. You know Tamara's deepest thoughts, fears and cares. I pray that in this time you will sent your ministering spirits to minister unto her. In Jesus Name Amen.

  3. Please remember that this young lady took an oath to uphold the law. She has brought the legal Profession into serious disrepute and should be punished. No one should be above the law. What message are we sending out there to our young people? I am now looking to the St Lucia bar Association to do the right thing. Watch this space.

  5. Well ,well , O Gawd, come fuh yo world. When yo have people describing deliberate actions by hifaluting embezzlers/ thieves of public funds as " mistakes".." Error"
,.we gone thru. You mean to tell me DAT wen the lil girl @ d post office or customs, treasury ' borrow" two grand to made ends meet ,police called in immediately, arrest is made followed by Bordelais.
Now listen here. When it wad established , attorney general demsnded her resignation. The lady swiftly resigned and took flight to St Lucia within ninety minutes. No arrest was made. It was disclosed dat ovet 300,000 was missing.$130,000 was quickly deposited in the affected account..Now we r hearing about 21,0000...where is d rest $$$.strange she was not charged with the serious criminal offence of embezzlement which would certainly attract a jail sentence. The falsification charge dropped ought to have been a rigorously pursued fraud charged. Why was this dropped. Today, Friday is for "sentencing". Folks in SVG are expecting an admonition an order for restitution an freedom to walk away. By d way , the restitution of $130000 as recently confirmed by pm Gonsalves was only made because the culprit was caught an possibly planned to use this deposit as a mitigating factor in courts. We will see later today.
Here are some relationship of characters involved.
DPP and the convicted felon's husband shared a legal practice in Ralph Go salves law offices.both gentlemen are strong supporters of Go salves and were senators in his government. The husband is a wealthy and prominent criminal attorneyThe presiding magistrate ,a young lady has recently been appointed Chief Magistrate. Let's hope she will be strong and independent and sensible in her sentencing decision today.
