Rambally’s Funeral Parlour has offered to cover the cost of burial for Ikel ‘Marlon’ Emmanuel, the famous Facebook mock-reporter.
A source close to Emmanuel’s family told St. Lucia News Online (SNO) that the funeral home would have normally charged $3,45 for the cheapest burial package.
“Rambally took care of the preparation of his body, coffin, and some other minor things,” the source said.
Despite the offer, the Emmanuel family are still in need of funds.
“She (Ikel’s mother) just needs about $2,000 to take care of the burial plot/public tomb ($1,840) and the fee for the minister to conduct the service ($100),” the source said.
Persons wishing to contribute financially to the funeral expenses, can make deposits at the National Workers Credit Union through the account number 4532706.
Emmanuel died at Victoria Hospital on July 1o at age 33.
His post mortem revealed that sepsis was the cause of death.
Researchers at Ohio State University Medical Center revealed that patients with alcoholism or alcohol withdrawal were at a higher risk of having sepsis and septic shock and were more likely to die during hospitalisation.
