Saint Lucia’s men’s national football team will get a workout ahead of Nations League action later this year, and so will the men’s Under-23, preparing for Olympic qualifiers.
The Saint Lucia Football Association Inc. has announced two friendlies at the SAB Playing Field against a team from the Trinidad and Tobago Professional League.
La Horquetta Rangers, formerly St. Ann’s Rangers, will provide the opposition for both national teams. The team now based in east Trinidad finished second from the bottom in last year’s Pro League, which featured 10 teams, two of which have at least two Saint Lucians on their rosters, and one of which is coached by Saint Lucia’s Stuart Charles-Fevrier.
Of course, Saint Lucia now has a Trinidadian head coach, in the person of Jamaal Shabazz. He will see his senior charges face off against Rangers on Friday, June 14 from 4 p.m. and the U23 team on Sunday, June 16 from the same time.
