French man, St. Lucian woman, arrested after gun was found on boat in BVI waters

A St. Lucian woman is now in custody at the Road Town Police Station in the British Virgin Islands after she and a man were found in the possession of an undeclared firearm on a yacht in BVI waters.

The incident happened yesterday morning.

Reports are that the British Virgin Islands custom officers intercepted the vehicle and proceeded to search it.

The officers found a .44 revolver among personal effects in the vessel.

The St. Lucian, whose name has not been released, was arrested along with a man who was in the boat.

It is not known if any charges were laid.
