Former Assistant Commissioner of Police and Head of Crime Unit Frances Henry has been promoted to Acting Deputy Police Commissioner at the Royal St. Lucia Police Force (RSLPF).

Henry is the first woman in St. Lucia to have been appointed this position and the one she previously held.

Henry will now replace Joseph Eugene, as Deputy Commissioner of Police responsible for Operations and Crime. Eugene has already proceeded on pre-retirement leave. She will now work alongside the other Deputy Commissioner of Police, Errol Alexander.

Police Commissioner Vernon Francois has told the media that Henry’s promotion is a historic one. The top cop described Henry as a dedicated police and said she will serve well in her new position. Francois said he looks forward to working more closely with her.

Henry has served the RSLPF with many distinctions for the past 32 years.
