Four men who were held for the murder of a British tourist in January appeared before the Second District Court in Vieux Fort for the third time on Friday.

Richie Kern, Kervin Devaux, Fannis Joseph and Jeromine Jones are accused of robbing and killing 62-year-old Roger Pratt, an engineer, who had been on a -round-the-world trip with his wife.

The incident occurred on January 17, 2014 aboard Pratt’s yacht which was moored off the Vieux Fort Coast. Pratt’s wife, 60-year-old Margaret, was also injured during the ordeal.

The four men, according to an article in the Coventry Telegraph, appeared at court on for a sufficiency hearing on Friday. This was aimed at determining whether there is sufficient evidence to commit them to trial. The matter was subsequently adjourned to May 23.

BTW, the very final court for Saint Lucia is the Queen's Privy Council and they won't allow the death penalty (even tho it's in our laws), so tough luck, y'all blood hounds.
I say, life imprisonment and no to the CCJ...they're backwards, the world has evolved, well at least the EU, the Yanks have 100 yrs to catch up on.
