Former Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Jadia Jn Pierre-Emmanuel has started a new journey, as she is now enrolled as a student at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Faculty of Law in Trinidad and Tobago.

The announcement was made on the official Facebook page of former Prime Minister Dr. Kenny Anthony. Jadia served as Dr. Anthony’s press secretary from January 2012 to January 2016.

In his post, Dr. Anthony said. “She comes to law with incredible experience. She was in the “engine room” so to put it, of the Labour administration. She was brave, courageous, tenacious, passionate, and loyal to the bone. There are so many adjectives to describe her but these will do for the time being.”

Dr. Anthony, a former UWI law lecturer, said that Jn Pierre-Emmanuel was well prepared to embark on her studies and has unique insights into government and its processes.

“She got to know and understand our Constitution. As I once told her, there are so many more secrets to discover in our Constitution.  Armed with law, she will be empowered to discover those many secrets,” he added.

He continues, “I believe Jadia will become a phenomenal lawyer. I wish her the very best and yes, I have great expectations. My only hope is that she retains her gift of laughter, her joy of life and living no matter the occasional tribulation that comes her way.”

Jn Pierre-Emmanuel holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from UWI and is the former youth leader of the opposition Saint Lucia Labour Party.

  3. For all the lame brained and pea-brained idiots out there, when you live your empty life fruitlessly by basking in the reflection of someone else's achievement and glory, and you have nothing to show with the talents you were born with, where the hell does that take you or leave you?
Boy, you mean that Saint Lucians today are are still that dumb? It is amazing!
Is that why we have got so many square pegs in wrong holes pretending they know something about managing an economy and a future, that we are today seeing so businesses shuttered, young people doing birth control and population control like the Wild West, and the suicide rate is still climbing? In that regard, we have become like Japan. There is no point in living in the hell hole those moronic SLP MPs and yard fowls created for us. It is better to call it a day. Hey! Is it not sad that some of our lame-brained want much more of the same?

  9. Why the hell is this, such a private sentiment regarding partners in mischief of any national importance? Wow! Everyday, Saint Lucians graduate with doctoral degrees and masters degrees, No such fanfare. Are Saint Lucians still so dumb that they cannot appreciate the difference?

  11. I don't know why any one would think that st.Lucia needs another lawyer. They are not taught problem solving what we need the most. At the core of the profession is basically to be a good BS er, What we need more are people of science, creatives, artisans, great teachers and economist like our own Arthur Lewis not lawyers who wouldn't be necessary without social rote and decay.

  13. I am sure she will discover many secrets to the Constitution. I am sure she will discover many that stay hidden in your war chest against a highly uneducated and impoverished nation. How about starting with the true interpretation of the word "convenient" in our Constitution, a matter you (KDA) have remained relatively silent on? What about the true role of the Governor General in the decision to bypass her authorization on leasing the seabed to Grynberg? What about avoiding a referendum at all cost which would allow the people to have their say in choosing their final appellate Court? What does the Constitution hold on IMPACS as it was implemented? Was it done in accordance with the powers enshrined in our Judicial and Legal Services Commission, or Public Service Commission? Was it Constitutional to have a sitting Commissioner of Police to resign in the "public interest" while being a very popular and supported strongly by that same public? Is one of these secrets telling the public that they have wrong names so they need to get proper names from their dead forefathers?

What does the Constitution hide about not disclosing fully the details of government "Guarantees" to private enterprises such as Frenwell? Does it make any provision for something called a "Belated Guarantee?"

What I do find is this blatant disregard for what is right. Whether to educate people about their rights is an option, but to deliberately use your knowledge and their own ignorance against them must account for something. I wonder what secret that the Constitution have in store for somebody like that?

  15. Lucians take a minute and analyze this thing. When is the deadline for submission of applications for admittance to pursue undergraduate studies at the University of the West Indies? Is the nation to believe that Miss Jn Pierre- Emmanuel had already given up on politics as we could believe that she had already submitted an application at UWI to pursue law prior to the last general elections? Or are we to believe that Dr Anthony's wife facilitated the late entry of Jadia into University to pursue law? Someone please respond

  17. St Lucian's will not soon forget the stupid rhetoric spewed from the bowels of the SLP propaganda machinery. Her failed strategy contributed to the SLP loss. I hope you are a better lawyer than you are a campaign strategist and I hope that in 20 years your child does not insult you like you did your father.

  19. This is not being negative. My point is people leave this country every day to go to university. Then they return and can’t find a job. But not this girl. She is one of those who have reaped the rewards because of her political affiliation. I am sure her fat pay out can more than facilitate this second degree which is a lot more than the average can afford! But what about those we are not politically aligned and whose parents have to fork out hundred of thousands for them to get a university education? These are the real heroes…not JADIA! Still trying to remain relevant!

    Wrong university, not accredited.

After the caribbean study of law, you will have to go to law school, so I hope the funding will still be available for you to finish, and don't do like the rest of the SLU solicitors, and a few barristers, that think people in the island do not know the difference, Stlucians have to understand a lot of foreigners Live here.

  35. Such negativity from people who would wish to achieve a samblemes of what she has done as a single parent. Jelousy and ignorance ....some of the words that come to mind thinking of all the comments from those who cannot even congratulate someone who is trying to better themselves by doing something positive with her life. " SHAME on all...you people are sick. That sure those explain a lot about us as a people.

  37. Hello Jadia, this is the person you referred to as Mr. Lamp on your FB page, you'd asked me to go so>>> and blocked me because I openly criticized a move by our former PM - KDA.

Well you can't block me here on SNL. I'm not a negative person and will like to take this opportunity to wish you well with your studies.

You don't know me and you judge me as a low life we have not accomplished anything in life. I pray that God help you raise your level of tolarence and understand that it's ok for us to disagree. Your current attitude attracts persons who wants to wish bad on you. You are a grown woman and its up to you to accept constructive criticism or continue blocking and shutting us up. Just know one day you will coming back to the same people you want to silence to ask for votes.

Surround yourself with people who are smart and able to be objective. We all have smart phones and the Internet is at our finger tips. Your facts may not be our facts or the real facts again it's ok for us to disagree and what goes around comes back around.

  49. I thought jadia would go to study a masters and or phd in a metropolitan country to expand her world view and get some international experience. She should have built up a new career path off the bachelors degree she already has. If she really wanted to practice law she could have went for a gdl and bptc in the uk. Disappointing choice of university and course for such a trailblazer but it may be what is best for her for her own personal reasons. Congratulations and all the best young lady!

    • Some of you are soooo ridiculous with they way you obssess over other people's lives. It is truly amazing!!! I am certain half of the retards talking down to the girl do NOT have 5 CXC passes. I also know for a fact that half of you don't honour your mothers and fathers. So how dare Yall want to give advice to someone who is way more advanced than you guys and clearly has a clear map of what direction she wants to head to? Give Yall a platform and Yall talk out your asses behind a screen. But ask Yall to read the first reading on Sunday in church and Yall lost your voices. Stupid illiterate imbeciles.
