A 30-year-old man from Forestiere, Castries, who is accused of stealing cabbages and dasheen on two separate occasions, has been remanded at Bordelais Correctional Facility pending the results of a pre-sentence report on February 21, 2013.
Trevor Eugene is accused of stealing $40 worth of cabbages on the morning of January 3, 2013. His father reported him to the police who arrested him on Jan. 15, 2013. He was released on bail on his own recognizance.
However, eight days later Eugene was back at it again. He arrested for stealing a quantity of dasheen from one Denis Jawahir of Forestiere, Castries.
In both cases, the defendant made voluntary statements affirming his culpability.
The court heard that Eugene sometimes lives with his father and on the streets.
