Victor Brannstrom, a 29-year-old Swedish football player, collapsed and died from a suspected cardiac arrest shortly after scoring in a league match for his team on September 2.
According to the local newspaper Norrllandska Socialdemokraten, Brannstorm scored for his side Pitea against Umedalen during their Division Two North game when he suddenly sat down and slumped over.
CPR was administered to the player before he was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Branstrom had previously retired from football in January following a similar incident however he resumed his career after tests showed he had no serious heart problem.
A post-mortem will be conducted to establish the exact cause of death.
