UPDATE: St. Lucia clip St. Vincent to record second victory in CFU competition

St. Lucia defeated St. Vincent and the Grenadines 1-0 Tuesday at Beausejour Stadium in Gros Islet to record its second consecutive victory in the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Caribbean Cup.

Shane Paul scored the lone goal for the St. Lucians who are fresh from their 5-1 drubbing of Curacao in their opening match on Sunday.

The Piton Boyz’ next assignment is on Thursday, Oct. 25 against Guyana at 8:30 p.m.; St. Vincent will tackle Curacao at 6 p.m. at the same venue.

In the other game Tuesday night, Guyana, who lost their opening match 1-2 to St. Vincent on Sunday,  bounced back  with a 2-1 victory over Curacao.

The winner of Group 2 will advance to the second round and join Grenada, Haiti and French Guyana, while the runner-up also will advance, joining Cuba, Trinidad & Tobago and Suriname.
