Football fever to hit Micoud North this Sunday

In what is expected to be a grand finale for the LPM Trophy this Sunday (March 3, 2013), Praslin Bay United will take on PYO Sports Club for a chance to be crowned Micoud North soccer champions.

The knockout tournament that began on February 10, 2013 is part of a national initiative sponsored by the Lucian People’s Movement (LPM) to help develop, promote and support the creative skills and talents of the islands youth.

At stake in Sunday’s game is a grand total of EC$1,000 to be awarded to the winning team in addition to a 19-inch custom-made trophy.

Both teams will receive gold and silver medals as tokens of appreciation for their participation in the finals.

Sunday’s game will be held at the Praslin playing field at 3 p.m. Praslin Bay United will be led by its captain Kerwin Peter and PYO Sports Club by Alva Wilson.

The public is urged to come out in large numbers to encourage and support the creative skills of our young people.

The next championship will be held at Anse- La-Raye/Canaries in May 2013.
