Five injured in Dennery accidents

Five persons were injured in two accidents that occurred in Dennery on Friday, Nov. 10 and Saturday, Nov. 11, according to law enforcement officials.

At Derniere Riviere, Dennery on Friday, shortly after midday, a motorcycle and a sports utility vehicle (SUV) were involved in an accident which injured Germaine Joseph, 26, of Derniere Riviere.

Emergency services were alerted at 1:06 p.m.

Joseph reportedly sustained head and back injuries and was transported to Victoria Hospital via ambulance in stable condition.

On the Dennery by-pass, on Saturday, shortly after 5:30 a.m., Vieux Fort minibus (2H) ran into the back of a car, resulting in four persons sustaining injuries, officials said.

The patient from the car has been identified as Nolan Anthony, 33, while the injured persons from the bus have been identified as Susan Joseph, 46; Brian Harlow, 42; and Marie James, 58.

Officials said all sustained minor injuries and were transported to St. Jude’s Hospital in stable condition.

An eyewitness told St. Lucia News Online (SNO), minutes after the accident occurred, that the driver of the car appeared unconscious.

“The bus hit a car from the back and the driver of the car is unconscious at the moment. This is happening right now,” the eyewitness reported.

  1. 2H bus not surprised...the persons who travelthis route do not say anything. I recently had a 2h bus overtake me just before praslin bridge..i could not believe passengers were aboard. I feel its bags of coals they carrying.

  2. Take y'all time. Everyone in St Lucia in a mad rush and I don't know where they going. Maybe to die..... Slow down damnit especially those minibuses... There is no reason a bus should run into the back of another vehicle when it should be taking the partner safely to their destination. They should take his licence...
