Fete Kweyol En Belle Vue set for Oct. 12

PRESS RELEASE –
The month of October is recognized internationally as Creole Heritage Month.

To commemorate this month the Belle Vue Development Committee is hosting a grand cultural show on the 12th of October, 2014 from 1:00 pm on the grounds of the Belle Vue Human Resource Development Centre.

The main goal of this cultural event, which has been dubbed “Fete Kweyol En Belle Vue”, is to create an avenue through which folk bands and other cultural groups from the community can showcase their talents and skills.

The committee believes it is important to preserve our traditional art forms; since this plays a vital role in developing a love for country and national pride among Saint Lucians. Fete Kweyol En Belle Vue is also aimed at branding the community of Belle Vue, Vieux-Fort as the cultural capital of Saint Lucia.

Wanjman, Chant – A – Fire, Belle Vue La Rose Group and Gregory Sinaise are some of the acts slated for Fete Kweyol En Belle Vue. Avot Sevis, one of the premier folk bands in Saint Lucia is the headline act for what promises to be one of the best cultural shows this year. In addition to being treated to sweet melodious folk music, patrons can enjoy many of the tasty creole dishes that will be on sale.

Fete Kweyol En Belle Vue presents Saint Lucians with a perfect opportunity to develop a greater appreciation for their culture. Thus, the development committee invites all to be a part of an activity which is educational and entertaining. Our culture belongs to us, let us all play our part in preserving the positive aspects of our culture.
