(SKY NEWS) – The father of a three-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm after a suspected acid attack on his son.
The 39-year-old cannot be named for legal reasons.
He appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court alongside four others: Adam Cech, 27, and Jan Dudi, 25, from Birmingham; Norbert Pulko, 22, from London; and Jabar Paktia, 41, from Wolverhampton.
They have all been charged by West Mercia Police in connection with an acid attack on Saturday 21 July in Worcester.
A three-year-old boy was in a Home Bargains store with his family when a substance was sprayed or thrown towards him.
The child, who was in a pushchair at the time of the attack, was treated in hospital after suffering serious burns to his face and an arm.
He was discharged from hospital on Sunday, but the long-term implications of his injuries are not yet known.
