(PRESS RELEASE VIA SNO) – On Monday 26 March, the EU Director General for International Cooperation and Development Stefano Manservisi met with Prime Minister Timothy Harris of Saint Kitts and Nevis in the margins of the special meeting of the CARIFORUM Council of Ministers on Post Cotonou. The meeting was held in St. Kitts and Nevis.
The bilateral meeting provided the opportunity to reconfirm the EU’s commitment to support the Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis in the implementation of its Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency policy.
Following the recent hurricane season, an additional amount of €2,4 million was made available by the EU to integrate the resilience component in the overall programme, which will now amount to €5 million. This additional allocation is part of the substantial EU post hurricane response announced at the high-level UNDP-CARICOM Donor conference in New York in November 2017.
