(PRESS RELEASE) — Sensei Cheteram Mortley, 4th Dan has been appointed the World United Karate Organization (WUKO) delegate for Guyana.
The very experience karate instructor has been in karate over twenty-five years and served as an adviser to many local karate clubs. His grade is registered in the Black Belt Registrar of the WUKO.
His club, Jaguar Karate Association (JKA) is now a foremost karate institution that focuses on the values and teachings of traditional karate. He will be working with the president of WUKO-Guyana and head of the Guyana Karate Association (GKA), Sensei Nadia Rohoman to unify all karate in Guyana and advance the WUKO.
As WUKO delegate his responsibilities will include working with groups, individuals and martial arts clubs to raise the level in all areas of development. Among these are to introduce coaching and officiating programs for instructors.
While sport is very important much attention will be on the all-round development of the martial arts student. Beside a WUKO member, he is also affiliated with the USA Karate International (USAKI). WUKO is the second largest umbrella karate body in the World with more than ten million members.
