Deputy Political Leader of the United Workers Party and Parliamentary Representative for Micoud North Dr. Gale Rigobert has been made a Universal Peace Federation (UPF) Ambassador for Peace.
Dr Rigobert participated in a conference convened by the UPF held in Miami, USA from November 1-3 under the theme ‘The USA and the Caribbean at a turning point:
Building a nation and a world of peace’. The conference attracted other participants from various backgrounds and nationalities.
Dr. Rigobert spoke on the topic, ‘Forging a new partnership between the US and Caribbean nations for peace and development.’
In her presentation Dr. Rigobert called for a re-examination of US-Caribbean engagement against the backdrop of a new politico-economic paradigm. She also called for a partnership that was mutually beneficial to the USA and Caribbean nations, especially in the current dynamic context of relations in the international community.
Dr. Rigobert joins the growing network of peace leaders from all ethnicities, religions, nationalities, and cultures; committing and adhering to the UPF’s and the UN’s vision and principles of peace.
