Although he remains on the books of Barclays Premier League club, Aston Villa FC, Saint Lucian defender Janoi Donacien has carved out a niche for himself at Tranmere Rovers in England’s League Two, otherwise known as the Football League.
Turning 22 this year, Donacien has made 29 appearances in two spells with Rovers this term, having returned in April after going back to Villa in January.
Now it’s been announced that the fullback/central defender will spend the rest of the season with Tranmere, having extended his loan stay.
Donacien has become a crucial player for the Rovers, who are languishing near the foot of the table. The tall, powerful defender will have seven games to try to get the Rovers out of relegation trouble.
Though they are second from bottom, the Rovers are just a point away from safety. Only goal difference is keeping them out of the bottom two currently.
