PRESS RELEASE – On Friday November 07th 2014 Digicel presented a $10,000.00 cheque to the Kiwanis Club of Castries to assist in the club’s education drive.

The presentation which took place at JQ Motors Choc Bay Castries during the presentation of the Kiwanis Raffle Car to the winner, was attended by Digicel’s Public Relations & Communications Executive Ms. Sergin Joseph-Jn. Baptiste, Kiwanis President Louise Vite’, Vice President Louise Mc. Vane Simmons, Club Secretary Peronia Browne, Treasurer Shelley Black and PRO Peter Alexander along with other members of the Kiwanis Club of Castries.

In making the presentation to the Club, Ms. Joseph-Jn. Baptiste stated: “That Digicel was indeed pleased to be associated with such a worthwhile project by the Kiwanis as a proper education is one of the key cornerstones of the development of a society as it formed the basis for the development of the individual who in turn contributes to the overall development of his or her country.”

She continued by expressing praise to the members of the Kiwanis Club of Castries who over the years have toiled hard and long to raise funds, especially in this difficult economic times to assist the less fortunate in the society, especially the nation’s young children in obtaining a proper education.

Kiwanis President Louise Vite’ in her address to the gathering stated that “ The Kiwanis Club of Castries is indeed grateful to Digicel for their assistance, having recognized the work that our club has been doing and continues to do in the area of education especially of the young children of this nation. Thank you again Digicel for choosing the Kiwanis Club as your conduit for channeling funds to educate the young underprivileged children in our communities” Ms. Vite’ noted that the donation would be used in keeping with the club’s major emphasis theme “Serving the Children of the World’ and the International Motto “ Changing the World ONE Child ONE Community at a Time.
