The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), in conjunction with telecommunications giants Digicel, is launching the St. Lucia leg of the Grassroots Cricket Programme here St. Lucia On Thursday. December 20, 2012 at the Mindoo Phillip Park Grounds.
The programme is geared towards developing young cricketers within the St Lucia. Hundreds of aspiring young cricketers will be expected to compete during the fun filled matches, displaying their skills and talents to coaches, family and fans.
The start off time for the event is 8am and the grass roots cricket fun day will see teams from the four clusters in St Lucia.
The Northern cluster will see players from Gros Islet through to Babonneau, Central cluster will have players from Castries to Anse La Ray, Eastern cluster will have players from Mon Repos and Southern cluster will have players from Micoud through to Vieux Fort.
Each cluster will play each other gradually building to the best two teams who will face off in the finials. Who the winner will be is on the minds of all participating teams. The event is open to the public with fantastic youth cricket ready to be displayed.

Come out to support the young cricketers in this worthwhile grass roots activity. Bouncing castles, live music and loads of excitement will be the order of the day.
