PRESS RELEASE – Digicel officially kicked off its Kickstart Clinic programme earlier this year in Jamaica to help aspiring young footballers across the Caribbean improve their game through a partnership with top English Premier League Club, Manchester City FC. The coaches have now arrived to host of the St. Lucia leg of the Digicel Kickstart Clinic this week.

For the next two days, 30 of the island’s top under-16 football players will have the opportunity of a lifetime as they undergo intense training from coaches Alan Dixon, Robbie Anderson and Ross McKay of Manchester City Football Club. The Digicel Kickstart programme aims to provide players with the opportunity to not only learn football skills and technical abilities, but also develop an ethos of professionalism and a good attitude. Coaches will advise players on areas of their game which can be improved and sharpen their skills.

She continued; “Judging from the excitement of the boys and local coaches and also the enthusiasm of the Manchester City FC coaches, we have no doubt that the next two days will truly be extraordinary and testimony of the talent that St. Lucia possess.”

The clinic will culminate with three players being selected to further impress the coaches at the Digicel Kickstart Academy in Jamaica and also possibly be selected for the Manchester Experience where they will train at the Manchester City FC Campus in England.
