Did you know 1879 saw the establishment of a Fire Brigade at Castries?

Did you know Scouting and Guiding took serious roots in St. Lucia about 1924?  These organizations contributed significantly to the general development of the youth of the Colony.

Did you know on May 05, 1907 a meeting was held at the Court House in Castries for the purposing of forming a Volunteer Corps?  However, the eventual out was the formation of the Defense Force of St. Lucia.

Did you know the St. Lucia Self-Help Association was formed in August 1911?

Did you know during the late 1930s a Press Censorship was introduced to the island?  This was followed by a Postal Censorship and a ban on giving publicity to German broadcasts.
