Did-You-Know-.3113112Did you know from January 01, 1842, the English Language was prescribed in all law proceedings?

Did you know from January 01, 1940, Dominica became part of the Windward Islands?  It already had much in common with St. Lucia, and the latter was glad to welcome its new “Sister” in a ceremony at the Council Chamber in Castries on New Year’s Day.

Also on that day the Castries Town Board celebrated its Golden Jubilee.  Taken in connection with its immediate predecessor, the “Municipal Corporation of Castries”, was the oldest self-governing body in the West Indies.

Did you know in January 1940, Wireless Telephone conversations were exchanged for the first time between St.  Lucia and the rest of the world?

  1. This is the history that needs to be taught at all schools.
Please revise the curriculum with this addition so that maybe this new generation will be more patriotic than the older one, because St. Lucians do not seem to be patriotic in any way. They seem to be out of touch with "themselves".
