Did you know the district in the upper reaches of the Canelles River know today as En Blanchard presumably owes its name to a certain Blanchard?
According to the plan of the Micoud Quarter dated 1771 or 1772, Blanchard owned an estate there that measured 95 carrés.
1 Carré = 3.2 acres
Did you know according to historian, Henry Hegart Breen, an estate called Beauchamp (Beautiful Field) was sold by judicial sale in 1843?
It encompassed 367 acres and fetched £2,670.
It may have corresponded to the present Beauchamp estate, inland from Troumassé.
However, in this case, the name does not appear to be a family name.
