

The boys’ singles event saw four groups playing round-robin matches and a playoff series. Jelanie, a student at the Camille Henry Memorial Primary School, beat Jordon Cox in straight sets in the quarterfinals, 11-4, 11-2. Klay Dorius beat Jahir Desir 8-11, 13-11, 11-8. Nate John won 11-0, 11-1. And Kerval Cenac pulled an upset when he conquered the number 2 seed Saneil Bernard in straight sets 11-6, 12-10.
The semifinals saw the two Camille Henry boys pitted against one another, and the two from Grande Riviere Primary. Jelanie advanced over classmate Klay 11-7, 11-5, 11-4. Nate got by schoolmate Kerval 11-6, 11-5, 11-5.
Jelanie stomped Nate in the first game of the final, 11-2. But Nate came back to win the second at 11-8. Jelanie, though, showed his championship calibre, winning the next two games 11-7, 11-7 to retain his under-11 title.
The girls division was played entirely in a round-robin format. Angelique beat Chevelle William 11-2, 11-2; Keara Gonzague 11-1, 11-2; Jeanelle Richardson 11-5, 11-9 and in the finals she got the best of Nhij Myers 11-4,11-3. Angelique also won the primary schools competition for Grande Riviere Primary. Nhij played well to place second after beating Chevelle 11-4, 11-1; Keara 11-1, 11-2; and Jeanelle 20-18, 11-3. Third place went to Jeanelle after she defeated both Chevelle and Keara in straight sets.
