PRESS RELEASE – As part of activities in observance of Business Month 2016 under the theme, “Your Passion, Your Business” the Department of Commerce, International Trade, Investment, Enterprise Development and Consumer Affairs will be hosting a Public Speaking Workshop entitled, “Art of the Elevator Pitch” on November 11th, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at the Department of Infrastructure, Ports and Energy Conference Room, Union, Castries.

This initiative is in keeping with the Department of Commerce’s mandate to provide effective training to entrepreneurs as a means of promoting the growth of the business community. This workshop aims at preparing and assisting entrepreneurs in effectively selling ideas to potential investors in as little time as it takes to “ride an elevator”. It is geared towards building the public speaking and marketing skills of entrepreneurs. The workshop will be delivered in collaboration with the Toast Masters Association which has prepared an effective, interesting and interactive presentation which promises to hone in on the aforementioned skills.

This workshop comes on the heels of the MSME Finance and Equity Symposium where the Caribbean Export Development Agency presented the Investment Facilitation Project “LINK-Caribbean” which aims to improve entrepreneurs’ access to capital via private investors and a Regional Angel Investor Network.

The Department of Commerce, International Trade, Investment, Entreprise Development, and Consumer Affairs encourages the attendance of the business community and the general public in this activity, as well as, in the various events planned in observance of Business Month.
