PRESS RELEASE – The Dental Department of the Ministry of Health held its third and final summer camp for 2014 at the Babonneau Multipurpose Centre, which will run from August 11 to 15.
This is the first time such a camp has been held in the community of Babonneau.
The Dental Camps which were at no cost to the participants aims to foster greater awareness and appreciation for oral health, proper nutrition, hygiene and care for their physical bodies.
Participants will also receive talks from the police, a representative from the Bordelias Correctional Facility, a social worker and family life educator.
Dental Summer Camps were also held in Vieux Fort and Soufriere during July and August, with Babonneau’s camp attracting over 60 participants.
Minister for Health, Alvina Reynolds and National High Jumper, Lavern Spencer provided words of encouragement to the young participants during the opening ceremony.
