Deligation heads to Taiwan for Presidential Inauguration

PRESS RELEASE – Minister for Education, Human Resource Development and Labour, Dr. the Hon. Robert K. Lewis, leads a delegation of four to the Republic of China (Taiwan) for the Inauguration Ceremony of the 14th President and Vice President of the Republic of China (Taiwan).

The Delegation which will accompany the Hon. Dr. Robert Lewis to Taiwan includes: Speaker of the House of Assembly, Saint Lucia, Hon. Peter Foster Q.C.; Cabinet Secretary, Mr. Darrel Montrope; and Administrative Attaché to the Prime Minister, Mr. Calixte George Jr.  The delegation departed on Monday, May 16, 2016.

The delegation will arrive in The Republic of China (Taiwan) on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. The Inauguration Ceremony for President Tsai Ing-wen and Vice President Chen Chien-jen will take place on Friday, May 20, 2016.

During their stay in Taiwan, the delegation is expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony followed by a state banquet and a bilateral meeting between President Tsai and other state officials.

The delegation will depart Taipei, Taiwan, on Sunday May 22, 2016.

    • Taxpayers of course. Not only flights: Minimum $1,500, hotels: God knows, Transportation: we know they not taking the metro; food: if only they would eat in those stalls; AND PER DIEM: My guess is : 150USD per day.

      All worth it.
