Ulynder Charles, a hard-working dedicated mother and grandmother, could not contain her excitement as the top-prize winner of Digicel’s August Text to Win promotion, as she collected her prizes from Digicel’s Fiona Smith.

In addition to providing school scholarships and rewarding the top five students at this years’ Common Entrance Examination, Digicel continued in its efforts to assist persons with annual school expenses, by providing its customers the opportunity to text for a chance to win cash, a laptop and desktop.

Elated to be the latest winner of Digicel’s Text to Win, Charles decided to keep her cash and laptop prizes but went on to donate her desk top computer to the C.A.R.E Grow Well School in Gros Islet.

When asked why this school of choice, Ms. Charles explained that her passion and care for underprivileged persons made her decision quite easy.

“This establishment currently has a desktop computer which is not quite functional. I admire the work that they do and have always wanted to provide assistance to them,” she added, “Digicel made me happy with these great prizes and it is only fitting that I make someone else feel the same!”

The principal expressed her gratitude for such a viable tool to assist in the learning development of the students and provide support to the daily operations of the institution.

In addition to Charles’ great winnings, David Daniel also walked away with a $1,000 cash prize as the second-place winner of the Text to Win promotion.

Having never won anything before, Daniel commented, “This is a great moment for me as I am now a winner with Digicel. This cash came at the right time and I am quite happy to have won this prize.”

“Digicel has always been a strong advocate for education amongst the youth of St. Lucia. Providing assistance to parents to ensure their kids have an equal opportunity to learn and develop is one of the many avenues we invest in to ensure that we continue to give back to the community,” said Kerchelle Jn Charles, Digicel’s marketing manager.

Digicel is encouraging its customers to be part of the Digicel winning circle and participate in September’s Text to Win by texting the word “Cash” to 7171 for a chance to win an Ipad and $3,000 cash.

Promotion ends on September 30, 2013 and each text message costs $1.
