Two men who are accused of attempted murder in relation to a shooting incident in Faux A Chaud in Castries on Dec. 14, 2012 were denied bail when they appeared in court this morning, Jan. 24, 2013.

Trandy Henry AKA Cripple and Shervon Alexis AKA Chunky, both of Faux A Chaud, are charged for attempting to murder Venus Raymond who sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Raymond was treated and released from hospital.

In court this morning, attorney for the defendants, Leslie Mondesir, renewed his application for bail on behalf of his clients due to the inability of the prosecution to proceed forthwith.

Bail was again denied despite Mondesir’s plea for leniency, and his insistence that is clients posed no further threat to Raymond.

Even the assurance of thrice-weekly reporting to the Beat and Patrol unit was not enough to sway Magistrate Michelle Louis.

Sufficiency hearing has been scheduled for March 1, 2013.

The defendants have been remanded at the Bordelais Correctional Facility.
