As part of its corporate social responsibility, Courts St. Lucia made donations to two organizations and one individual today, at its Chausee Road, Castries branch store.
A donation of $10,000 was made to the Salvation Army. Public Relations Officer for Courts, Britney Jongue said this donation was the third such donation of the similar amount made to the organisation for the year.
Jongue said the donation will assist the Salvation Army in its humanitarian work to support and help rehabilitate people with addictions and provide housing for those who are homeless.
The Victoria Hospital was also presented with a 32 inch TCL television, which will be utilized by the Emergency Department. The television set will serve to educate the public on ways to prevent diabetes and chikungunya, among other diseases.
Meanwhile, Courts also donated a sewing machine to Quincy Farrell, an aspiring fashion designer and winner of the 2014 Courts Fashionista. Jongue said the sewing machine will assist Farrell in pursuing his dreams of becoming a professional fashion designer in St. Lucia.
